Graff since 1966, 40 years of freedom of the presses
The year 2006 was resolutely Graff! This high place of creation and animation for contemporary art in the various techniques of print celebrated, in 2006, is 40 years anniversary. To highlight this event, Graff organized, from september 7 to october 7, 2006, a major event combining an exhibition of recent works, called Hyperliens, projects with historical content (Art postal) and an animation program for the general public. These activities were celebrating Graff's adventure, its dynamic presence in the world of art since 1966 and its essential role in the development and the promotion of contemporary print.
Graff, 40 ans et pas de poussière
Created for the 40th anniversary of Graff and presented at the Grande Bibliothèque de Montréal, from january 24 to august 30, 2006, this exhibition gathered seven collective book-works created at Graff between 1968 and 2004. The exposition, who's curator was Madeleine Forcier (Graff's director), allowed the public to notice the importance of all the changes that occured in the world of print in the last four decades; such as formal concern and the evolution of print techniques.
