David Moore (download cv, pdf 80kb)

Merlin, 2007, wood, metal, ceramic, 91,5 x 53,5 x 53,5 cm

David Moore was born in Dublin (Ireland) in 1943, but has been living and working in Quebec since 1964. He received his artistic training in Dublin and Montreal, notably at École des Beaux-arts de Montréal and Concordia University, where he taught for many years at the Studio Arts department.
Moore uses sculpture, installation, and drawing to decline representations of the human body within a space. His artistic production often brings together mirrors and ephemeral images, and is profoundly committed to searching new ways of combining elements. His work evolves around the main line between illusion and reality.
David Moore’s works have been presented in Canada, the United States, and Europe in more than forty solo shows during the past three decades. He has made monumental public artworks such as aLomph aBram in Quebec City and Site/Interlude in Lachine. His artistic production is represented in many public, private, and corporate collections.
