Jocelyn Jean was born in Valleyfield (Quebec) in 1947. He graduated in design from the Université du Québec à Montréal (1972) and in visual art from the University of Moncton (1970). In 1981, he had his first exhibition at Galerie Graff. His works are in a number of public and corporate collections across Canada, including the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec, the Canada Council Art Bank, the Prêt d’œuvres d’art du Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec and the New Brunswick Art Bank. Jocelyn Jean lives and works in Montreal and in Grande-Anse, New –Brunswick and he teaches in the visual art department of the Université du Québec à Montréal.
